My current research is focused on Semantic Web technologies, in particular knowledge management, learning, social software, and reasoning. Recently, I have been working on a “semantic wiki” system called IkeWiki. Together with Max Völkel and some others, I have also initiated the Semantic Wiki Interest Group. I am furthermore workshop chair of the first workshop on semantic wiki systems co-located with the European Semantic Web Conference in Budva, Montenegro, and programme chair of the I-Semantics conference series (2006 Vienna, 2007 and 2008 Graz). Before, I have been working on Xcerpt, which is a declarative, rule-based language for querying and transforming XML and semistructured data (see my PhD thesis below). Xcerpt is now further developed as part of the REWERSE Network of Excellence.

See my DBLP entry and my Google Scholar list.
